The Karana was designed to monitor one SHS including a battery, PV panel and one load. However, this arrangement is highly flexible, allowing the KaranaBase to monitor 3 different loads, gather the data and send it to the data log automatically. This allows users a complete overview of their electrical devices. 


Due to the high modularity, as well as the open soft- and hardware, the Karana is a well suited tool for education purposes. Students can use the device to gain knowledge of monitoring, coding and communication technology. 


Karana is the perfect tool for feasibility studies and pilots, as a number sufficient for a sampling size can be installed in the field. The devices will then send data continuously, over a long stretch of time.
